Certificates of Authenticity for the Ellis Island Family Heritage Awards and the B.C. Forbes Peopling of America Award

I was honored to be commissioned by the Soleia Company, an exclusive partner of The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc., to hand-letter three Certificates of Authenticity for the Ellis Island Family Heritage Awards and the B.C. Forbes Peopling of America Award. Since the certificates were a unique size, I made custom envelopes and lettered the name of the recipient on each one. The awards were given to Patti LuPone, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Diane von Furstenberg at The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation's Gala in the Great Hall held on May 19, 2015. Soleia Company selected Atlanta-based artist Michael Dillon to hand-forge the awards from Statue of Liberty armature bars preserved during the 1986 centennial restoration. I got to touch one of the awards, as well as some of the original, rusted armature. It was amazing! Such history!
