Engraved Plate for Larry & Wrenda
Hand-engraved glass plate. Silver-filled engraving, January 2018. Gold-filled engraving, August 2020.
Happy 50th Anniversary Larry and Wrenda! Wishing you many more years of love, music, laughter, joy, and peace.
When past and present meet. This plate was one of the very first items, and best pieces, that I engraved in Ken Brown’s (@kenbrownscribe) class in January 2018. I always knew I’d give it to a special couple one day.
Last month, I receive a message from Heather (@hsfbland), Larry and Wrenda’s daughter. She was preparing a book of messages and photos from students, friends, and family for her parents to celebrate their 50 years of marriage.
Wrenda, Mrs. Fuller (no relation), was my 8th grade and high school choir teacher, and my senior government teacher. She can teach anyone to sing like a bird! I saw her every school day for five years, and sometimes in the Summers for special events or classes. She was a major influence and I cannot thank her enough. She was not only a wonderful teacher, but a guidance counselor, cheerleader, and so much more. Seth (@grayworry) and I are the people and artists today because of her. We also met and fell in love in Mrs. Fuller’s choir class. =)
Wrenda taught us how to be confident soloist, and harmonize beautifully in choir and “The Sound of Music”. She taught us how to compete with grace and humility in All-Regional Choir, All-State Choir, and Governor’s School for Voice; debate intelligently in government history; and study and act genuinely in State and National History Day.
When I was a senior, Wrenda introduced me to Washington, DC, when my friend, Mandy, and I competed in National History Day. Wrenda’s energy and lust for life are infectious! I will never forget our one-day tour of almost every museum in DC. She was very hard to keep up with!
Larry always came to our concerts and events. He would sit in the audience or help back stage. When Larry and Wrenda are together you can feel and see the love and appreciation they have for each other.
Larry and Wrenda, we are honored to know you and appreciate you. You have touched our lives and hearts, and we are forever grateful.
